The 10 Commandments

Will we need the Ten Commandments in heaven? Revelation 21:1 tells us that there will be no more death. Why should we worry about the 6th commandment if death cannot be found? What about the 7th commandment? If there is no marriage in heaven, then who could commit adultery? I am also very sure that there will be no other gods, so how could we break the 1st commandment? I don't think we will need to be reminded to keep the Sabbath day holy (Isaiah 66:23). Nor do I think we will be making idols.
You see, the law reveals to fallen man God's character. After we have receive the Holy Spirit we don't need to be told about the character of God, we have His very Spirit. And in heaven, we will be complete, lacking nothing! God is not law. God is love, check it out! No where in God's Word are we told that God is law. However, we are told that God is love. The Ten Commandments reveals our need of a moral compass. That compass is now with the believer until the end, it's the Holy Spirit! When we get to heaven, we will have arrived. Not to the banks of eternal law. But to the shores of eternal love!
