Spirits In The Church

The seducing spirits are hard at work in the church today.  Satan’s lying wonders are leading millions astray.  Christ forewarned His Church that this would happen; yet today we are walking hand-in-hand down the wide path of destruction.  Why?   Simply because we are craving signs and wonders.  It is not enough to walk by faith today; we want to see phenomenal things.  We are in love with the spirits of seduction.  (Read: Romans 1:17; Habakkuk 2:4; Hebrews 11:1, “Faith is…the evidence of things NOT SEEN.”)   “Now the Holy Spirit speaks clearly and in detail about the coming delusion that will visit the Church in the end times, there is no room for confusion or doubt.  Some will depart [desert the] from the faith, and occupy themselves with deceiving seductive spirits, and demonic teachings” (I Timothy 4:1).   “But evil men and seducers [charlatans] [evil spirits] shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, [seducing] and being deceived [seduced]” (II Timothy 3:13).   We are, beyond a doubt, living in the day the Spirit warned about.  Next, the evil spirits right in the church will perform the explosion of signs and wonders.  The church is already enquiring, seeking, requesting, and searching for phenomenal things to happen within the worship service.  Faith is out the window and supernatural power is desired in its place.   Most, but not all, of the signs and wonders during the days of the apostles were given to lay the foundation of the Church.  Consider II Corinthians 12:12, “Truly the signs of an apostle were wrought among you in all patience, in signs, and wonders, and mighty deeds.”  Ephesians 2:20, we, “…are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone.”  The apostles were given signs and wonders in order to lay the foundation of the Church; we have built upon that foundation.  We are not permitted to annex on to the building [body] of Christ with new signs and wonders.  “And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people…” (Acts 5:12; 14:3).   We are permitted to operate under the guidelines or guidance of the Holy Spirit, but we are not permitted to go beyond to build again that which the Holy Spirit has established through the apostles. Yes, we can see the manifestation of the Spirit through spiritual gifts in the Church today, however one must be warned, about the craftiness of the enemy.  There are seducing spirits on the prowl.  Not everything that says it’s from God is from God.    How can we know the difference?  “When he (the Shepherd, i.e., Christ) has brought all his own sheep out, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they recognize his voice.  They will never follow a stranger, but will run away from him, because they do not recognize the stranger’s voice” (John 10:4, 5).  If we will stay grounded in the Word of God, NOT THE WORDS OF MAN, we will never go astray.  The greatest mistake made in the Church today is our dependence or confidence in man, (in whatever form that may take), above the Word of God.  Christ is your Shepherd and He has sent the Holy Spirit to guide you into all truths (John 16:13).  Jeremiah 17:5 says, “Thus saith the LORD; ‘Cursed be the man that trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from the LORD.’”  “ But the anointing which you have received of him abides in you, and you need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it has taught you, you shall abide in him” (I John 2:27).
